What you walk away with

Most organisations are already moving on AI. Fewer have a clear read on what the technology is revealing about their leadership, culture, governance, capability, and strategic direction. This assessment gives you a practical mirror: where you are, what matters now, and the next moves you can make.

Custom AI Diagnostic

Start where the organisation actually is

Not every organisation is facing the same AI question. Some teams need a clearer picture of their use, capability and friction before deciding what to scale. Others are already comfortable with the tools, but exposed on governance, accountability and the quality of the decisions being made with those tools. Others again sit somewhere unique enough that a generic readiness frame would only flatten the situation.

These three assessments are designed to meet those different starting points without pretending they are the same problem. The point is not to produce a maturity score for its own sake. It is to leave with a clearer understanding of where the organisation actually is, what matters most, and what deserves attention first.

About the AI Readiness Assessment

The readiness route is for organisations that sense AI is already shaping how work happens but cannot yet describe it clearly. People are using tools. Decisions are being shifted. Confidence is uneven. Some teams are racing ahead, others are watching from the side, and leadership is being asked to call a direction before having a clear picture of what is actually in the room.

The assessment turns that scattered experience into something leadership can act on. It maps three things together: where AI is actually being used across the organisation, where capability is uneven, and what leadership and culture are signalling about the direction the organisation is drifting toward.

The work follows a three-part movement that runs through Parker's Humanum Huis practice: a Mirror that shows the present honestly, a Dream that gives language to what the organisation actually wants AI to do for it, and a Compass that turns that aspiration into a grounded path forward. The result is not just a snapshot. It is a route into the next decision.

Parker leads this assessment. Irina supports on the learning and capability layer. Dimitri shapes how findings translate into language different stakeholders can use.

Best for:

Organisations that have started experimenting with AI but want a clearer view before scaling, codifying or restructuring around it.

About the AI Governance & Risk Scan

The governance route is for organisations that already feel the pressure of the EU AI Act, ISO 42001, internal audit expectations, or simply the question of who is accountable when an AI-assisted decision goes wrong. It exists for the moment when "we should probably look at this properly" turns into something that needs structure.

Fatiha leads this work from a rare combination of fields. She is a Lead Auditor for ISO 27001 (information security) and ISO 27701 (privacy), holds Lead Auditor credentials on ISO 9001 (quality management), and is currently certifying on ISO 42001 (AI management). The scan is grounded in those frameworks, but it does not stop at compliance language. It asks how the organisation is actually deciding, where controls hold, where they are gestured at rather than practised, where your AI use cases sit within the EU AI Act risk classification, and what responsible AI use would look like in daily operations rather than in policy documents that don't get returned to.

The output is a clearer picture of governance posture: what is in place, what is exposed, what is documented, what next-step controls would meaningfully reduce risk, and where audit-readiness sits today. Where the readiness assessment opens the question of direction, the risk scan addresses the question of what the organisation can defensibly stand behind.

Fatiha leads this route, with Parker contributing on leadership accountability and decision quality where the scan touches those layers.

About the Custom AI Diagnostic

Some situations do not need a readiness scan or a governance scan. They need a different cut altogether. A specific team is struggling with a specific workflow. A leadership group is divided on a specific decision. A particular product, function or population sits at the centre of the question, and the standard frames flatten it.

The custom diagnostic is built for that. It begins with a scoping conversation to define what the assessment is actually trying to surface, then assembles the right Synarchy lead and supporting people for that domain. Irina or Dimitri usually shape the engagement, with subject-matter leads brought in where useful — Parker for adoption and judgement work, Fatiha for governance-heavy work, others from the collective where the question pulls there.

The deliverable is shaped to fit your question — written diagnostic, leadership briefing, or working session — rather than fitted to a fixed format. The point is to leave the organisation clearer about its real next step, not heavier with documents.

Best for:

Organisations whose situation does not fit a template, and who would rather start from the question than from the offer.

Why this matters now

A lot of organisations want to be moving faster on AI. Some are. Most are moving without a clear read on where they actually are, what they are protecting, what they are exposing, and what they will own once the technology is fully embedded. That gap rarely shows up early. It tends to surface later — in audits, in failed projects, in teams that have quietly lost trust in the tooling, in leadership groups that find they made decisions they cannot quite defend. These assessments are not about caution and they are not about hype. They are about giving organisations a steadier place to make their next AI choice from. That choice can still be ambitious. It just becomes harder to regret.

Continuity after an assessment

Keep us by your side on an advisory retainer

The assessments stand on their own — no follow-on commitment is required, and the route most organisations take is to absorb the findings internally before deciding what comes next. The retainer described here is for leadership teams that want continuity of thinking after the diagnostic, not a default next step.

What the retainer does: it gives leadership a thinking partner with continuity. Someone who already knows the assessment context, who can be brought into specific decisions as they come up, and who can flag when momentum is starting to outrun judgement. It does not replace internal leadership and it does not run programmes for you.

The space between an assessment and the next stable version of the organisation is usually where good thinking gets thinned out by urgency. Boards are convened, roadmaps are drafted, tools are selected, policies are written, teams are reshaped. The retainer is a low-volume, continuous route designed for that space.

It sits inside our wider consulting offer, the Box of Intelligence, and is most useful as a follow-on to a readiness assessment, a risk scan or a custom diagnostic. It can also stand on its own where leadership is already clear about the work and just wants a steadier outside view alongside it.

About this workshop

AI Adoption at Work is an interactive card game workshop designed to help teams explore how AI can genuinely support their work. Rather than treating AI as a technical subject explained from the outside, the session helps people experience for themselves how judgement, creativity and collaboration shape whether AI becomes useful in practice.

It is built for teams who want to move beyond abstract discussion and develop a more grounded feel for what good AI use actually asks of them. Through playful challenges, shared reflection and guided experimentation, participants learn how prompts, choices and evaluation influence both output quality and decision quality.

Why this matters now

AI is already entering the workplace, whether organisations are fully ready or not. Employees are experimenting, leaders are making decisions quickly, and many teams still lack a shared language for using AI well. That gap can lead to uneven adoption, costly mistakes, weak judgement and uncertainty around ownership and quality.

This workshop was created as a practical response. It focuses less on tool hype and more on the human side of AI readiness: how people question, evaluate, reflect and learn when AI becomes part of everyday work.

What your team will take away

Participants leave with:

  • more confidence using AI in everyday work

  • clearer insight into where AI can and cannot help

  • stronger judgement around prompts and outputs

  • a better ability to compare results and discuss quality together

  • a more practical feel for what good AI collaboration asks of people

The session is designed to make AI literacy tangible, shared and immediately discussable within a team.

How it works

The workshop uses a card-based format that turns AI exploration into an active group exercise. Participants move through three rounds that gradually shift from experimentation to application:

1. Warm-up
Participants receive one card from each deck and use them to visualise a theme, build a base prompt and generate a result.

2. Dare the Others
Teams invent a challenge, pass it along, receive another challenge back and create a new result in response.

3. Put it to Work
Participants turn a real work challenge into a theme, create custom AI instructions and leave with the beginnings of a more usable AI helper.

The format is playful, but also educational. It helps teams test ideas, compare outcomes and sharpen critical thinking in a way that feels social and low-threshold rather than intimidating.

Workshop format

AI Adoption at Work is available:

  • for small teams or larger groups

  • as an on-site session or online webinar

  • with a duration of around 2 to 3 hours

  • with no prior AI experience required

Because the format is hands-on and guided, it works well for organisations that want an accessible first step into AI without turning the session into a technical training or tool demonstration.

Who leads this work

This work brings together four people with different strengths around the same challenge: helping organisations use AI with more clarity, better judgement and stronger practical footing. Parker Woodroof (Humanum Huis) brings a leadership and organisational lens that sharpens the bigger questions behind adoption: what AI is actually helping a team or organisation become, where direction is still vague, and what needs clearer thinking before momentum takes over. Fatiha Ait Ali (Braincrush)brings the governance and responsible AI perspective, helping organisations think more carefully about how decisions, risks and implementation hold up in practice.

Alongside that, Irina Stoyanova (Cheeseball Consulting) strengthens the learning-design side of the work, helping turn good workshop content into stronger facilitation, clearer learning materials and formats that people can keep using after the session itself. Dimitri Le Roux (Rethinking the Box) created the workshops and leads much of the facilitation, shaping the sessions so they feel thoughtful, engaging and immediately usable rather than abstract or overblown.

Together, they make it possible to approach AI from more than one angle at once. Not only as a technology question, and not only as a training topic, but as something that touches judgement, communication, leadership, learning and organisational responsibility. That mix is what gives this work its balance: practical enough to use straight away, but thoughtful enough to help people make better decisions around what comes next.
